DAC columns use a movable piston attached to a hydraulic jack to pack the column. The piston applies constant compression to the stationary phase, which helps to ensure high efficiency and bed stability. The piston also prevents mechanical degradation and maintains constant bed compression, even if the bed swells or shrinks.
Why we need a DAC Column?
When users need to pack the preparative columns with a diameter of more than 50mm, the traditional pre-packed columns are difficult to be packed with high column efficiency and symmetry, and the column head is easy to collapse during the process, resulting in the deterioration of the column efficiency, which can't satisfy the long-term continuous purification.
The DAC provides constant pressure from the piston during operation, ensuring packed column bed density and stability for optimum separation effect.
